From the mind of writer-director Hilina Da Costa Gomez and producer Patrick Thompson, we bring you  a suspenseful exploration of three of the pressing societal issues of our time.

​

This is a call for collaborative partners for a new take on the Murder Mystery.

We are currently in the development stage for a trilogy of  female driven murder mystery films films  set in the Southern Province of the Netherlands, each exploring one of the pressing contemporary issues prevalent throughout an ever-changing Europe - media, migration, gender and of course crime.

​

We are seeking:
International co-producers and sales agents with experience in socially conscious storytelling, crime dramas or murder mysteries.

Rotterdam Social

Adriana von Wees, an idealistic young influencer and budding tabloid journalist, scores a dream job at Junk Food News, a digital media giant infamous for its celebrity exposés, hoping to add her own positive spin to pop-culture reporting.

But when a vengeful killer starts targeting the company’s top reporters whose past exposé led to the death of the beloved actress Yara Vos, Adriana starts to suspect that there's more to the Vos story than the company has let on. As journalistic ambitions clash against morality, Adriana's investigation into the company’s shady past turns into a fight for her life.

The Killings in Leiden

Burned-out, depressed and running from a past toxic relationship, New-Yorker Sarah Hardy returns to the city of her birth, Leiden, seeking to reinvent herself and pursue her dream of becoming a crime fiction writer.

​

After enrolling at the university’s Literature department, Sarah bonds with a trio of fellow Creative Writing students, including Mila, a beautiful, enigmatic woman with her own troubled love history. The pair's intense, borderline-obsessive friendship spirals when the fictional crimes Sarah shares with Mila begin to mirror real murders targeting the men who wronged them. As suspicions across campus mount, Sarah must uncover and expose the truth about her new friends before she becomes the prime suspect in multiple homicides.

 

​The Killings in Leiden is a gripping tale of betrayal, obsession, and the blurred line between fiction and reality. It offers an exploration of friendship amongst women haunted by past traumas.

Strangers in Marinestad

After her husband’s reckless investments leave the family in financial ruin, Janna van der Meer, a once successful investigative writer turned struggling waitress, decides to rent out her basement studio apartment to John Sleuth, an eccentric but seductive young medical student.

 

But as the South-Holland region’s latest serial killer, believed to possess medical expertise, claims more victims closer to her home town of Marinestad, Janna begins to have suspicions about her new tenant. While the local police and townspeople eagerly look toward the local migrant and refugee communities hoping to find the killer, it is up to Janna to follow Sleuth’s trail before the town devolves into a hotbed of ethnic tension.

 

​Strangers in Marinestad is a gripping, atmospheric thriller that explores paranoia, prejudice, and the battle for truth in a town gripped by fear of the other.
